One afternoon and an evening on my own, so I just had a rainwear shower in nylon.
First my old, a red and thin nylon rainset with stripes on both jacket and pants. Second layer, a little thicker jacket and pants in red nylon, quite good and keeping the water out for a good while.
And then on top, a white one piece overall made of medium thick nylon. This is a old one and it let water in quite quick. And sorry to say, it have started to break into pieces.
What a lovely sound when moving in this outfit, rustling and so swischy. And it makes such a noice and is viberating when using the massage shower. So exciting to play in the shower in this outfit and feel the water slowly comming in.
Do you like to play in the shower in multilayer rainwear? How do you prefer to dress then?
Guess I learned to like rainwear getting wet when my cousins and their parents had a summer house. I and my cousins, two girls at my age often played in rainwear, we were outdoors in every weather and didn’t care about some rain. We often got soaked in our nylon rainwear and I liked it, and think they liked it to. When it was hot and sunny, we run into the waters sprinkler out on the lawn. So funny to do that in rainwear and it was a quite hard waterspray.
So sad when they sold that summer house and all things we have had so much fun with, tents and sleeping bags, rainwear, garden games, etc was just gone.

Re: Lovely multilayer shower
I love to take a shower wearing a nylon raincoat, I make sure it's done up nice and tight around my middle and the hood is nicely done up around my face, then I just sit under the shower and get wet whilst watching the raincoat get shiny. For a bit extra enjoyment I sometimes wear a covering over my face before doing up the hood so when the water runs off the hood onto my face it gets soaked and so difficult to breathe, I think taking a shower dressed in my favourite raincoat is a great alternative when there is no rain.Gerlid wrote: April 8th, 2026, 4:15 pm One afternoon and an evening on my own, so I just had a rainwear shower in nylon.

I've enjoyed layering up for the shower today - first my chest waders, and then a silky headscarf tied hijab style. The first raincoat is a long polyester, zipped and poppered, with a large hood which is tied tightly over my headscarf. Next layer is a nylon trenchcoat with a rubber lining - an old favourite, and the seams need some attention, but the fabric is a s waterproof as ever. next a nylon raincoat with PU coating - very waterproof, up to about 10,000mm - zipped and velcro closures, with a high collar and close-fitting hood. Over the two hoods, before my final raincoat layer, is a proofed balaclava with a partial wig over the forehead, and then my current favourite raincoat - A Jack Murphy Malvern full length ladies bush raincoat in a stone colour - zipped and press studded, and waterproof to 20,000mm. Final head protection is a new large headscarf, which I layer with two Totes rainscarves, and a ripstop nylon waterproof scarf, with a piece of thin dense foam which stiffens the projecting edge of the scarves. Last of all my gloves - a silk liner, then a thin pair of rubber gloves over the cuffs of the first two coats, heavier rubber gloves over the cuffs of the third raincoat, and another pair of silk liner gloves to finish. fully prepped for at least half an hour under my power shower. Fabulous sensation hearing the roar of the shower as it batters my headscarves - the water beads on the Malvern raincoat for about five minutes or so, but then it takes on the shiny wetess as the outer fabric is soaked. I like to adjust the edges of my scarves to tst my layered gloves - all good today, no penetration, but I suspect the Malvern will let water through the pockets and dampen the lining - next project is to seal the pockets! After half an hour, even though the water is ice-cold, I've worked up quite a sweat, There's absoluty no penetration of the Malvern of my new headscarf layers, but the inside of my first raincoat and my headscarf are soaking from my sweat - but then that's part of the fun!

Re: Lovely multilayer shower
Some more about multilayer. I live in a house at the far en of our little town, over the street and 15 more meters and I’m in the forrest. Often, if it’s just a chance for rain, I put on one or more layers of nylon rainwear. So nice to walk our dog in just swischy rainwear. Sometimes I meet other dogowners, but it’s nothing strange with the outfit in that weather. Perfectly ok to be out in public that way. Sometimes I walk our dog together with our neighbour wife and their dog, Love when she also have rainwear on.
Do you like to wear rainwear in public?
How do you do to make it a bit less odd, to be dressed in rainwear when the chance for rain is low?

I like to wear rainwear out in public whether it's raining or not, I just wear what I want and let other people worry about it bothering them.Gerlid wrote: April 11th, 2026, 7:47 am Some more about multilayer.
