Raincoat Party - Makerfield by election

Post by Cherie »

For all UK folks this will make sense, for the rest of the world, bear with me…

I am considering throwing my hat in the ring and running as candidate in the upcoming Makerfield voting alongside the other 17 candidates. My newly formed “Raincoat Party” policies are as follows:

Mandatory rainwear wearing for everyone when it is raining, about to rain or just a bit overcast.
300% tax on modern rainwear material but traditional materials with be zero VAT.
New safety laws to make buttoning up mandatory during rain. Fitting of belts and hoods to become law by 2027.
£100M investment in weather technology to combat climate change by instant rain generation.
All stores to stock over the counter plastic pants.
All fashion collections to include a minimum of 20% rainwear designs.
Free plastic rain cape in boxes of Corn Flakes.
All 1980’s themed events must, by law, provide plastic jelly jackets to party goers.
Old telephone boxes to have defibrillators, book clubs and any remaining actual telephones removed and replaced by mini rainwear boutiques.
Decriminalisation of waders.
Government pardon and instant release from prison of The Weather Girls.
Music videos featuring PVC outfits must have the camera remain on those outfits for the entire duration, and must not zoom or rotate madly to detract from the viewer pleasure.
PVC-U-LIKE to be awarded a royal warrant, “by appointment to her royal highness Queen Camilla”.
Business rates relief on all shops selling rainwear.
Outlaw use of technical materials in cagoules and a return to traditional values of PVC lined nylon.

Anyone for any more?

Lovely idea but the word Mackintosh is missing from your manifesto, hence I could not vote for you
