A day for rainwear
The rain seems relentless here today, just as it has been for the past week. But the gardening needed doing. So with pleasure I slipped on my green Mountain Warehouse waterproof trousers over my nylon gym shorts, and my blue pack away Mountain Warehouse anorak over my T shirt, wellies and out I went. It is such a nice feeling being in the rain, fully protected, the material sticking to my skin as it got wet. Back inside now, changing my anorak to my black Mac in a Sac. Lovely.

There has been some really good weather in the middle of this week, a mixture of sunshine and heavy showers. Unfortunately I've missed being out in a lot of it, although I was out in one really heavy shower of rain.

Up until 6 or 7 years ago I had similar inhibitions about wearing a long PVC mac out in public, but if you wear your rainwear out on a day when it is raining you will find that no-one gives two hoots. I've had a few complimentary remarks, usually from women.

It never ceases to amaze me how so many people on here are paranoid about wearing raincoats or rainwear, out in public. Firstly, there is the word "raincoat" which speaks for itself. Its an object that has been designed and sold to the populous for generations to do a job. The fact that you and I and the majority on this site may get a nice buzz out of wearing it is a massive plus!!!! The majority of the population wearing their boring miserable cotton or polyester macs are pissed off and miserable!!! So enjoy it, embrace it, wear it as a fun, enjoyable thing. Nobody gives a damn about the fact that underneath that fine shiny hooded mac, you are loving it, all they want to do is get home and get out of there boring little mac. How lucky we are to be able to get turned on and enjoy our little secret shiny swishy macintoshes!!!

Re: A day for rainwear
Yesterday was the first rainy day for weeks, have been very dry here. My wife and I and our neighbour wife walked our dogs in the rain, our dogs hate rain but we have to go out anyhow.
Love to walk when we all have rainwear, both my wife and our neighbour wife in their swischy rain jackets and overtrousers. They are made of a little thicker nylon with really soft nylon lining, so lovely to wear and when they get shiny from rain, I think they get really exciting.
Love to walk with with those two women and watch them move in their wet rainwear and love the swischy sound. I try to have so little under my rainwear as possible, just to feel the soft nylon lining on my body. It’s quite easy to get to warm in our rainwear so we have as little as possible under.
And now I hear a heavy rain again, another day for rainwear! Looking forward to dogwalks
