What are peoples favorite colours for rainwear then?

Yellow & navy for me; red, black & pink for my wife.

Though in the '80s & '90s I did own a kelly green - navy reversible preppy-style slicker (as well as a grey-red model like Jennifer Grey wore in "Dirty Dancing"), a brick red pvc coated nylon rain jacket, and a purple Columbia IBEX rainsuit...all sold in mens' sizes - wish I still had those today!

So I guess my preferences have largely been influenced by what's been more readily available to me. But I do have to say my absolute favorite rainwear color has always been yellow, since I was 6 years old.

I would love to find a shiny thick navy Blue PVC Rukka style mackintosh, however Red is a stylish and traditional colour also.

Blue PUL long gents raincoat plus Olive green 2 piece pvc suit - neither seem to raise comments, especially in the weather we are currently enjoying
Broad minded enough to acknowledge we all enjoy different things:)

Hmmmm, I love PUL stuff-

I'll take 'unlined' anyday thank you- I love the way it 'clings'!

Well for all the rain we've had this weekend I've only managed to wear my partners (with express permission) yellow short trench coat in the shower this eve! Atleast it was lovely and warm though.

I collect rainwear, mostly 'vintage' and motivated by nostalgia. I have about a dozen basic nylon ladies' size macs from the 70s, maybe four plastic macs (much rarer and I've 'donated' a few for shoots), 25-30 concertina rain hats and 50-60 umbrellas, most of them 'telescopic' type made by Shelta-Knirps from the mid 70s to the mid 80s. None of the macs fit, and I haven't actually worn a rain hat for about 20 years. My interest is in seeing them worn by women rather than doing so myself. But there are half a dozen brollies, most red or blue, that I regularly use and in 30 years have never encountered any problems from passers by.

I love the bright, deep solid colors like red, blue or green - wet nylon in any of those colors looks marvellous, much under-rated.

So, has the original person who started all this off, come to a logical conclusion? It seems that people wear everything and anything which is the way of the World.

Hiya blackmacjay,

Yeah I was just curious as to what 'floated' peoples boats when it came to wearing rainwear. Obviously folks favorite item(s) of rainwear don't necessarily have to be what you'd normally wear in public either.

For me I love the sight and feel of my partners PUL collection of various lenght unlined rainwear from the her shiny red or identical trans black large hoooded coat (which is great for layering up with), trans orange cycle suit ect. But my most favored would be her yellow short trench coat- as she likes their stuff we've yet to buy anything else so far.
I normally wear one of my puffa jackets in public (Northface ect) and my partner has a nice black shiny pvc Moncler puffa too, but to be honest the PUL items we wear are more for a bit of fun around the house, garden in the summer or occcasionaly in the car somewhere if she's in the mood.

There is a very wide, broad selection of views listed through this thread- and many thanks to all those who've contributed!
