Hi,

The youtube clip you have linked to is mine, and as you have quoted, that mac must actually be her own. wonder where she bought it?

People were being very bitchy about her on Twitter but she was at least appropriately dressed for the weather-unlike most of the rest of the presenters-and I thought that she looked great.

Yes Fern looked great in that Red PVC raincoat today.
I saw lots of the thin festival style clear PVC ponchos in evidence and even some waxed trenchcoats, but no thicker PVC raincoats.

On the other hand, Sian Williams looked gorgeous in her textured Beige trenchcoat with the rain pouring down on her.

Yes she looked good again with a clear brolly.
I liked the red coats/capes the boatmen on the royal barge wore.
They looked smart.

Not a great anorak fan but Emily Maitlis looked very snugly wrapped up in her red one.

A poor day for the rainwear 'enthusiast', I watched most of yesterdays activities but saw very little to excite me. The sight of so many soaking wet people who will not wear decent rainwear as they are worried their friends may poke fun at them is very sad. It was nice to see Fern Cotton (not a stranger to wearing PVC) wearing a red mac but as with most women these days, could not be bothered to fasten it up. The hi-lite or rather lo-lite of the day was the choir all dressed in black singing away soaked to the skin, why no protection at all, that'll do their voices a lot of good!

All in all, a pretty poor show but we'll try again at todays and tomorrows events. Hopefully do better for the Olympics with all the officials on rainy days dressed in clear plastic macs, we'll have to wait and see.

Phil.

I was out and about in a very wet London yesterday and there were loads of people around in plastic or pvc raincoats with a great selection of lovely colourful wellies on display too!

Here's a cheeky pic that I snapped on my phone of this lady in her pink plastic Primark mac. A rare sighting as I havent seen many people wearing them out and about:
