Plastic Raincoats in York!

Post by plasphil »

These are views from a dress rehearsal for a 'York Mystery Play' (UK). All of the singers are wearing Plastic Raincoats and many of the cast rehearsing are wearing yellow ones. I wonder who had the job of precuring all those raincoats and ponchos at short notice and more importantly, where did they find them?

Hi Guys

Yes we did supply all the coats, 160 in total!

All of the actors have raincoats and all of the staff have them as well.

The plays are on all month so if you want to be surrounded by Plastic macs I suggest you get up to York!

York is always a nice place to visit - just got better by the look of it

Wonder if any of the actors / staff have a secret PVC fetish - if so they will truely be in heaven!!

Come on, Gaz ! Give us some more info, please.

Was it a male or female who placed the order ? Did they confess to having a plastic mac fetish ? Let's be honest, 160 items must have cost a fortune ! I reckon someone on the committee must have seen it as a great opportunity to be surrounded by a lot of people dressed in plastic. Did they specify sizes, styles and colours? Or did they just say send us whatever you think might be appropriate ?

What happens to them when the plays are over, I wonder ? Does the organiser collect them all up and end up with a huge plastic rainwear collection kindly paid for by theatre company ?

Would love to be there on a wet day but I will never convince my wife that I am off to York for a bit of culture. What a shame.

Jeff.

Take her with you, great city , plenty to see, museums (National Railway Museum) etc plus the dirty S word (Shops)
Some great real ale pubs including 3 owned / run by York Brewey , oh & you can visit their brewery.
What more can you ask for??

Hi Jeff

Don't get too excited but it was a woman who ordered all the raincoats!

Unfortuanately they don't all have a fetish for rainwear, originally they wanted all the coats made in various cloths throughout the ages but we said we could only manufacture in PVC so she chose colours as close to the original drawings as possible.

I would imagine that all the actors and security staff get to take their coat home after the show....lucky buggers!

Suggest you all get up to York for a get together!
