ebay Sellers
I got a great gold smooth mac from the ebay seller glass-roses, not cheap including the post, when I got it it stinks of cigerette smoke. I contact the seller and ask if I can return it and sort it out before leaving feedback. She promply contacts ebay saying I'm trying to blackmail a refund and asks them the look into it. ebay then says, without any request of input from me, you cannot return it for a refund. I check back on glass-roses other feedback and see I'm not the first one to recieve cigerette smoke smelling stuff from her. They did not get anything either. So now I'm stuck with a mac I cannot wear and a lot of $ out of pocket ta boot. Just goes to show ebay sticks by them that pay's their fees.
Re: ebay Sellers
so you checked the feedback after the event. It was there to check before you paid for the item so why did you not bother to check it before. Caveat emptor = let the buyer beware. As you admit the evidence was there before your very eyes and you choose not to bother to look at it. So now you come and whinge on here. Sorry to appear harsh but you only have yourself to blame
Re: ebay Sellers
Must admit if I see any macs or anything else catches my eye on ebay I look at the feedback etc of the seller
Must admit all the sellers I have dealt with have lived up to their percentage ratings
There again there are always individuals on any of these sites who choose to sell unkempt items...just waiting for an unsuspecting buyer

I'm not winging, just letting people know to be aware. I did check the feedback and there was no negative feedback for this seller. Only after did I go back and read each one, got back to Dec 2011 before I found the other comment about smelling of smoke.
Re: ebay Sellers
Thanks to everyone's comments. I've advertised several plastic products here in the forum that have been on ebay and never received a complaint, hopefully won't in the future. That said, my experience with ebay, buying and selling, has been very positive with one or two exceptions over three years ago. I think the key is being VERY specific in one's description as well as for the buyer to ask questions if there is any qualms about the product or more info is needed.

Re: ebay Sellers
I cant believe the price some people try and charge for vintage cagoules! Theres some peterstormsmon their that some ebay shops reguarly start at £60!!! Unbelieveable when you think that they probably pick them up for less than a fiver in a charity shop to sell on and some dont even have the pu lining intact and some even dirty smudges and stains!
mind you i do notice that its these ones that never sell when genuine private sellers have an old one from the cupboard up for a few quid!

Lets get swishy!
Re: ebay Sellers
noticed another trick some sellers are using now is putting lo postage in and then at the very end of the listing in small print saying that the postage will actually be more. How the hell do ebay allow such sharp practice. Strikes me that is bordering on dishonest.

Re: ebay Sellers
Think you've hit the nail on the head, they list them at £60.00 and they dont sell, if someone is willing to pay £60.00 then great for the seller but as most people wont pay that the sellers fees just rack upannabell-cagoule wrote:I cant believe the price some people try and charge for vintage cagoules! im not sure if they still have the same rule, but the maximum you could enter as postage for clothing was £4.00, I dont know how eBay dreamt up this amount but thats what it wasmerv wrote:noticed another trick some sellers are using now is putting lo postage in and then at the very end of the listing in small print saying that the postage will actually be more. Some sellers would then add to the body of the listing 'Actual P&P will be £5.50' every time i saw this sort of thing on an item i was interested in I complained to eBay and kept on complaining until they took action
Re: ebay Sellers
Why would you complain to ebay about sellers telling you the actual cost of P+P in the body of their listings because ebay won't allow sellers to enter the correct cost of the shipping? what else can you do? it's getting to the point now where selling on ebay isn't worth the hassle, listing fees, final value fees, PayPal fees, unable to leave neutral or negative feedback for poor buyers, it's just not what it used to be.
