Jackpot!!
Re: Jackpot!!
All may not yet be lost merv, I've been doing some more investigating and it seems that there isn't any need to register with TaoBao at all, there are a number of other sites around act as agents allowing you to buy through them from the Chinese site, I've had a look at a few and the one that seems to give the best results is www.yoybuy.com, I've only just started searching through the listings and I haven't come across any of the items I originally listed, but I have already got a couple of pairs of wellies added the favourites section oh so easy to create account, hope that helps folks.

Re: Jackpot!!
Well folks, our luck is definitely in! lol, after spending some time searching on yoybuy, is wasn't able to find the blue rain suits we're all hoping to get, but not to be put off, I sent an email off to them...
Hello!
As a new member to Yoybuy, I would like to ask if it is possible for you to buy items I have found on Taobao but do not show in the search results on Yoybuy, I have the Taobao pages for the items I would like saved in my favourites and I can easily email them to you if it was possible for you to buy them for me.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

... and when I switched on the computer today this reply was in my inbox, take note of the person's name, rather appropriate I thought!!
Dear Davie Stewart,
Please do not search them on yoybuy, just copy their original taobao links to your shopping cart.
You can also try to transfer your items in "my favourites" to your shopping cart.
Then make order for them.If you could add them to your cart successfully,
we think we would buy them for you.
Have a good day!
sincerely,

Happy shopping, oh, and here's the link to the exact suits being worn in Robson's extreme fishing clip...

Re: Jackpot!!
Good news! I can confirm that ordering on Yoybuy is so simple it's childs play! I've successfully placed an order for 3 plastic rainsuit, 3 different kinds of plastic waders and a pair of plastic overboots (socks to me), the total was about $62, or as PayPal converted it, £42! I must point out that that only covers the cost of the actual goods and the cost of getting them to the agent, once the agent has all the goodies I'll be sent another bill for the shipping cost of getting the goodies to me.
For those interested in the process, it's so simple, register for an account on http://www.yoybuy.com, once you've done that, go to http://www.taobao.com, this is where all the searching gets done but remember it's a Chinese language site so no English can be entered into the search bar, I suggest having another browser window open at the same time set on http://translate.google.com/, type what you're looking for into the panel on the left, set the output to Chinese (simplified Han) and simply copy and paste the Chinese text generated into the search box on Taobao, once you've found something you want, add the page to your browser's favourites folder, keep on shopping till you've got all you want, adding each item page to your favourites as you go. Once you're done, go back on to Yoybuy and go to your accout, click on the My Cart button, now you'll see an input box where you need to copy and paste those URL's for the items on Taobao, once you paste an address into the box and click submit the item appears on the page, all you have to do then is enter the size and colour information into the comments box, click Add To Cart and you're done! just repeat the process for each of the items you want. There is one last thing, when you click Pay Now, you'll be told you have insufficient funds in your account, you'll need to use your card or PayPal to add the necessary funds to pay for your order, bare in mind when PayPal send the money to the agent's account he has to pay the PayPal fee for that so be sure to add enough to cover that when adding funds, I added $65 to my account, but with the fee taken off it left me with $62.10 to pay for my goods.
Hope that helps.
PS - there are a couple of differences in the names of things too, waders for example are known as fishing pants, wellies are either rubber, rain or PVC boots, all work, rain suits are just rain suits!!
