My wife and I like longer full-skirted. I wear single texture mackintoshes but two of my wife's are rubber-lined satin trenches!

My wife and I prefer full-length. Although the ladies' fashion industry would have you think otherwise, part of the function of a trench coat/mackintosh is protection from the rain, so why not go for maximum protection with a full-length coat? I have a navy full-length double texture cotton trench, and 3/4 length single texture macs in navy and tan, while my wife has full length belted trenches in black single texture satin & red double texture satin and a 3/4 length off-white single texture cotton a-line mac. Don't understand the appeal of a short coat or cropped jacket, seems rather useless in a downpour - even with wellies & a rain hat to complement the coat your legs still get soaked and there's nothing worse than soaking wet pants.

I love my long full skirted red and black hooded rubberised satin macs.......always worn tightly belted . I also have a calf length SBR mac and sou'wester which I wear when the rain is pouring down.

its not just a matter of long or short, but color, texture, material.

I went to college with a girl who had a reversible cloth khaki/yellow rubber long slicker, but she always, even when it rained, wore it with the khaki side showing. and it was not attractive. just looked like an ordinary cloth coat.

Yes, but to those "in the know" like yourself wasn't it a turn on to know she was hiding yellow rubber underneath? And a lot of our fellow rubber lovers enjoy the feeling of rubber against their skin, you don't suppose she got off on that did she?

Personally I love the way my wife looks in her rubberized satin macs, the look & drape of the coats & the sheen of the satin, the way the color seems to slightly change depending on the lighting, and the fact that there's still a hint of tantalizing rubber odor when we walk arm in arm in our macs even after she's had them for nearly 2 years. I suppose the satin looks so nice that I'd still go wild for them even without the rubber underneath.
