Nylon, Rubber, or PVC

Post by hazrainsuitman6 »

Do y'all have a preference for nylon, rubber, or PVC rainwear? Or do y'all like all three types? It's hard to choose because they'd be good in a layering session. Right now I have an orange nylon anorak and black nylon trousers while typing this. Maybe this could be a start to this post.

I can't choose. I usually switch between those types every few days.

I usually wear street clothes, nylon rainwear, and heavier PVC layers at times. Right now, I added blue PVC trousers and my light green HH rain coat with my black neoprene boots. BTW, I like your new pics.

For me it has to be PVC, the heavier the better! My heaviest suit is an Ocean Crewman smock & bib overall @ 540gr/m2 in white, cost £110, but its worth it! As for feel, my favourate has to be my Maxden smock and bib overalls, smooth and shiny inside and out, I've yet to find a rainsuit anything like this anywhere! Heavy rubber is also great, but I do prefer the millitary or commercial hazmat gear rather than macs. My 2 "must gets" for this year are a set of Northsea rain gear, 770gr/m2! and hopefully a viking rubber drysuit.

I agree with you RainyDee! I'm interested in Grundens meself, but Carhartt makes some great smooth PVC rainwear here in the states.

I like all rainwear as long as it is unlinded. I want as much smoothness inside as possible. But this could be with nylon, PVC or rubber rainwear.

I love PVC rainwear - of course nylon on a girl is nice, but PVC is nicer ;)
I also very much like these new plastic / PVC jackets that have come in fashion recently (Primark, etc.)

I've never worn anything made of rubber but I'm sure I would like it.I like pvc and nylon, the heavier the better, and even better with quilted or fleece linings. My favourite is my Sundridge floatation suit.I often wear this for walks and regularly get mistaken for a postman.
