That would be the beautiful Julianne Moore, who looks great in every movie she's in. I guess she's best known for playing porn star Amber Waves in "Boogie Nights", but those scenes in "Assassins" were way more of a turn on for me.

I have been "attracted" to rainwear for many years...going back to the early 1950s when part of the school uniform was a reliable topcoat, being the gaberdine raincoat

The average school kid either loved wearing their mac or loathed it

But looking back to those days it was commonplace for everyone,be it adult or child to wear a raincoat

It didn"t have to be raining..the raincoat was worn as a reliable outer garment to keep one warm as well as dry

And the fold up mac was always carried just in case of the sudden shower

I do not wait for it to rain before I wear my mac.....my nylon mac for the days when there is a "nip in the air" but dry and my Trenchcoat for the colder days

I dare say I get some odd glances from those who pass me by but wearing my mac gives me a "buzz"...I might even leave it on or slip on another mac when I get home

Yes...I still look out for others wearing them but sadly it is a rarity in these times when people of all ages seem to enjoy getting wet

Nice photos of the polka-dot mac, Slyfox.

I post my sightings to my Flickr photostream - see http://www.flickr.com/photos/24947004@N04/

Thanks to Penneys (Primark) for bringing clear PVC macs back into fashion!

now that cool weather is here i spend good deal of my out door time in nylon mackintosh.
no need for rain just cloud will do.
Once i am out in mackintosh i keep it on even if sun comes out.
Unless i get hot.
Have plastic macs for indoors and sometimes out if raining.

There is some great plastic rainwear out there, if you don't mind the "motocross" look. Can-Am makes and sells "translucent mud jacket and pants" that are great. I've gotten a couple pair and they are great for any purpose. The material is somewhat stiff and can rustle and crackle when you put the garments on. Another similar product is a rain suit put out by "Shot Rainwear". It's a little more durable and also on the noisy side! With winter coming on no problem venturing out with this gear on. Being unisex maybe we'll some gals taking part.

If you're interested in buying this stuff I think it can be accessed on the Can Am Wesite under their clothing tab. The Shot product is from "Shot Racegear" and is sold out of the French stores only from what I can tell.

HI Kulshan,

Regarding the rainwear you've referred to, are they nice and smooth? (as in really lovely PVC smooth...)

Also, where are the shopping links?

Hi,
I saw a woman of about 45-50 ish on Wednesday morning in Hampton when it was overcast, in a full length green Rukka raincoat. when driving home that afternoon it was quite sunny but cold, I wonder if she was wearing it on the way home in the sunshine? If so i would have love to have seen her again!!

Also last week in Hampton, I have seen a woman mid 30's wearing a Boden cloud thick brown pvc mac with the hood up 3 or 4 times now. :D

I had some nice sightings at the Samhain event last weekend. There were quite a few ladies in their wellies, and one entire family, all in wellies - mum, dad and two kids. I was delighted to see one lady in her green plastic mac (just like this one and matching pale green wellies. Very exciting.

I've just got home after spending 3 days in Birmingham. In the hotel where I stayed was an elegant middle aged woman,Spanish or Italian, who wore a very shiny black plastic parka style knee length coat.It had a zip front, belt, fur trimmed hood and quilted lining. One evening I saw her going out wearing jeans, knee high black leather boots and her coat zipped to the chin and tightly belted.Black leather gloves completed her outfit. She looked fantastic.
