One of the better things to wear is a rubber-lined garment of whatever floats your boat. Because, rubber makes the garment waterproof and windproof.

I feel the cold, so prefer to wear something warmer.

Re: Cold out here
I have worn my rainwear when it is freezing cold, but only out of sheer necessity. The thrill for me is wearing it outside when the weather is milder and rainy. I am waiting for more suitable weather in the spring.
Re: Cold out here
I cycle to work, its not very far but in this cold weather do find that wearing my nylon waterproof trousers over my jeans keeps my legs alot warmer, padded coat though to keep my body warm

Re: Cold out here
In Munich we had have round about -4 to -8°C and snow on ground during the last days.
warm underwear, warm polo neck, wool skirt, fleece, short wellingtons or chelseas from Hunter with boot socks, scarf, leather gloves, wool beanie and on top my Stutterheim Stockholm raincoat.
okay, looks like the Michelin-Man, but it's sooo warm, snow and windproof

Re: Cold out here
There is no doubt that rainwear will keep me windproof and waterproof layered. Keeping the wind out when it's cold is an essential layer. Proofed nylon works well. Any kind of plastic will shorten the life as it gets stiff in the cold and can crack and break.
