Know what you mean Neil. Spent the weekend in wellies; Saturday was really warm & our boots got nice & sweaty, especially after shopping all day in the city. Received some nice comments from people who loved wellies but were afraid to put them on. Shame that isn't it? Liz.

I really hope you manage to get some waders Liz, once you've spent a day sweating in waders you'll wonder how you ever lived without them, they feel great!

The best compliment to nice warm sweaty welly feet IMO is to treat the remainder of your body the same way.My favourite rainwear activity is a nice long walk on a warm humid drizzly day with full waterproofs and wellies on;hood up and everything done up tight.

Wellies are good, but waders are better :o)

I'll take any excuse to wear wellies - my fave activities being walking (or geocaching) and gardening. I also love the feeling of being over-dressed - so walking through long wet grass with full chest waders on is a great feeling. Another favourite past time is splashing in big puddles - you do need to be well protected for this though. I did get caught once by two ladies on horses in one of my favourite spots - I'd had a good session and was covered in mud. They just commented that it looked like I was having a lot of fun!

Not so sure about the whole sweaty thing though - I like the inside of my waterproofs to be clean and dry, although sometimes it's hard not to overheat inside.

My waterproofs invariably end up being wet from sweat on the inside.
What I do is as soon as I take them off I turn them inside out.It is especially important to do this with the sleeves. Then I hang them up or spread them out somewhere warm, rearranging them frequently until every bit is completely dry.
I've had some for many years and none of them smell.

Paddling in the mud in them and wanking in them

When I was a teenager I used to wear a yellow PVC cape and sou'wester on my bike when it rained. I also wore wellies or waders with the top turned down to allow freedom to pedal. Wearing this gear I would stop in a quiet spot, turn the wader tops up and wank over them beneath the cape. I had a few friends who were not above mutual self or joint wanking sessions under capes in the rain.

A favourite spot for this was on a pathway alongside a railway line. There is a much longer story about that for another time.
