Hi Garykane,
I Have two SBR mackintoshes but from Stormclouds and I think you should forget all about using Mr Sheen !
Since I have had these raincoats I have always used the Armorall protective spray that is normally used for car interiors. You just spray it on your mac and polish it off into a soft shiny sheen when it gets nearly dry.
It does have some UV protection and has silicone in it to make the rubber last longer. You should be best off hanging up your new mac in a dark place like a wardrobe as constant bright sunlight does have a degrading effect on the rubber surface.
There are quite a few members here who can assist you more but I was passed this information from other members on the forum and it has been good advice - indeed my trenchcoats look like new still.
I did try the PVC and rubber polish made by Cocoon, but it was more expensive and just did'nt bring up any shine whatsoever.
Care of sbr raincoats
Re: Care of sbr raincoats
I've heard that just plain old silicone spray lubricant is OK to use? -It does not contain any petroleum based oils, or anything else.
Has anyone tried that?
