Although I wouldn't want it to change it seems strange that the TV companies seem to favour cheap (not quite disposable) rainwear rather than something more substantial especially when they go to the efforft of having their logo on it - long may it continue

You're probably right, the old eyes aren't what they used to be

Carol Kirkwood used to broadcast from the roof of the BBC in Central London wearing a few different coloured raincoats when it was wet. But it was on BBC Breakfast quite a few years ago.
Thankfully for us, these lovely ladies seem to be the only ones wearing raincoats. The people in the background and those they interview don't wear them?
