I've noticed that 66 North out of Iceland does make rainwear in bright neon colours and it is extremely popular in Iceland. just look at all the music festival pics and after parties 8-) . Maybe if it rained more, people would look into rainwear as an alternative to bulky umbrellas.

Hunter wellies are more of a fashion item here in the states and I hope to make it fashionable by photographing lovely models in my gear.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to say thanks for all your really useful feedback!

I am working on getting the shop up and running at the moment - hopefully a combination of detailed photos and videos will encourage people to buy, since none of the online sites currently provide this. I live in the countryside, so there are 4 or 5 farm supplies stores I can go to and admire the different types of rainwear - but this isn't as easy for someone in the city - and I'm sure there are a lot of people who would like it.

Also, as an offshoot, I'm planning have galleries & videos of models in rainwear and testing it in different situations. You might have seen those "messiest job" programs on TV - this would be similar but to test out rainwear and protective clothing. I can also sell these galleries to make a bit of extra money and keep the cost of the rainwear down.

I will let you know how things go.

Cheers

I think it really depends on the country.
For example Iceland it seems very normal and common too wear 66 North PVC rainwear, seen the climate there HD like rainwear sells good.
For more "normal" country's it would be much difficult, except some parts of Scandinavia.
For the "normal" country's it has been proven that non HD PVC coats with a fancy print does sell.

Hi Again,

Has anyone found a UK supplier of 66North, ELKA, Ocean or Viking rainwear?
I've looked and can only find a very limited range (e.g. I can find ELKA Fishing Xtreme but no other ELKA gear for example).
So I am starting to think that there may be a market there - but not sure if stocking ELKA and Ocean and 66N is worth it?

Also I've found a way that I could export to EU countries. How widely available is Ocean / ELKA / 66N in Germany for example?
Please let me know about this in your own country - it will be interesting to find out.

Cheers
