It’s now autumn/fall, and colder weather is upon us. For the last two years at least, advisers on new fashion in newspapers and magazines have promised us that the clear plastic raincoat is the trend for the spring/summer seasons, not just for festivals but for everyday, or at least rainy day wear in towns and cities. The in thing for young fashionable up to the minute women.
Okay, I don’t live in a city, but do visit occasionally, but so far I have yet to see one of these ‘on point’ macs being worn on the street, on even the wettest day. Still, the most common wet weather gear is a bum-freezer length anorak, or at most one of those very thin hooded polyester coats, usually in bright colours.
So friends, can any of you tell me where those see through or translucent macs went, or will it all happen next year? Has anyone had better experience than me, and if so where should I be looking?

Re: Clear plastic raincoat fashion
I totally agree. The best I have seen are shiny leggings and matte rubbery PVC coats (feel like plastic but look like rubber). No sightings of any clear plastic, not even frosty, in an towns or cities I have visited. The last time I saw proper plastic in public was a woman wearing a red transparent plastic jacket a few years ago. First sighting she was carrying it, second it had started to drizzle and she had put it on.
