I'll specify the day and hour when we should be there...

Maybe it's me but I just don't see any issue here. My SO and I just spent a few days in the UK and in the usual variable weather she wore on several occasions her shiny black PVC mac and her navy blue rubberized satin. I wore my fawn single-texture rubber mac.

I think you are quite right garykane, in the UK there seems much more of the 'stigma' you spoke of when a male especially wears PVC / Rainwear. It is much less of a problem in some other places in europe - France & Germany especially I think where people are'nt so outspoken if someone wears / acts slightly differently.
When I first started wearing my PVC macks in public I would travel a small distance away where I was less likely to run into someone I knew, and when I received little or no attention I started wearing them closer to home until people are used to seeing me wearing them now and it is no big deal.

As I keep saying its only a big deal if you make it one. People are generally far too busy with their own lives to worry about what others are doing. As long as you are sensible in what you wear nobody cares. A dark say grey, black, blue raincoat in the rain, or likely rain is totally inconspicuous. Bright colours may be more noticeable and see thru with nothing underneath would be just silly. just be sensible and enjoy the moment. A plastic mac on a hot sunny day would raise eyebrows but thensome people just do not want to dress sensibly anyway. The old lady with thick woolly gloves the other day on the bus trying to read a paper caused more amusement especially as it was about 20 degrees centigrade out and the bus heating was still working well. I was wearing jeans and t shirt and certainly no raincoat. just dress for the occasion as needed

Capuchelatex69, is there any news on when you will be going to weathervain this week, as I would still like to be there at the same time? Thanks, Loo.

Hi Latexloo,
I am so sorry, but we have had a professional agenda problem.
Master and I are very sad to have to put back our visit in London. But this project is always of topicality. I promise to you to be held informed date, as soon as it is for good fixed, certainly in september.
Hope to see a lot of you, rainwear users, at this time.

Thank you for letting me know, and please remember me when you do come over, it would be nice to be somewhere like that with other genuine rainwear lovers.

Re: Travelling in your mackintosh
Hi, dear friends!!! It was such a long time. But we are all so busy!!! This time it is sure. We finally reserved a little resting time in our agendas for a trip to London, and especially a visit to Kew Gardens and Weathervain's!!! Master ordered for me a terrific SBR mac and a double proofed grey rubber cape!! I am so impatient. We'll be there on February the 22nd, in the afternoon, to try and pick them up. I'll be all rubbered under my klepper cape, and with my wellies on, too, of course. Perhaps we'll meet there? Hope to see a lot of you, rainwear users, at this time. See you soon!!!
