I think Navy Blue.
Hi Spitfire! Glad you said that as that is the colour I was leaning towards and almost put it up in the 'Subject' line as "wearing a shiny navy blue PVC mac". I must admit the first time I saw the film I had the mac down as black but then when I watched it again (to write down the timings for the mac scenes) and came to the conclusion that it was navy blue. I think the problem with it is the light, i.e. the way the light falls on the mac in the various scenes. In some it appears black and in others most definitely navy blue. So, I think I will agree with you and say it's a navy blue mac. Cheers for getting back to me - very much appreciated mate.
This style of Mac was very popular in London particularly in the center in the late 80s and early 90s, the period of big shoulders and big hair. Women working in offices wore them wet days or not. They seem to be made of a very soft form of plastic, very flexible and thin as you can see when Audrey is running how it close. They are usually black from memory, always seemed to be made very loose fitting presumably to be worn over suits. By the late 90s I had sadly disappeared as a normal fashion. If anybody knows what particular material they were made from I would be interested.
