Question! I've entered PU/PVC in the subject line but I'm not so sure. Anyone any ideas? Whatever it's made of it looks like it would be bloody expensive to buy - understatement!

I would say lacquered leather. I think PVC and or PU would not give the required stiffness.
The advert does scream high end.

To me it also looks like patent leather. And yes, it is most probably an expensive designer item or a one off that was specially made for this ad.

I was thinking at the time of posting the link that the mac was maybe not PU or PVC and I did think of lacquered leather or patent leather - hence the question I put out to members. I think I'm tending to agree with you on this one. You are right too about it being "high end" - bloody expensive IMO!

Thanks for that ILC. I think you are right and this would now seem to be the consensus of opinion, i.e. that the mac is lacquered or patent leather and not PVC/PU.
