Is this a joke!......that's around £450 in UK money, and why knocking on a hundred bidders?....i've seen a few ridiculous prices for vintage 60's raincoats or some designer coats ....but this takes the biscuit! (& still 12 hours left when i viewed it).
I remember another auction involving a yellow Rukka that went for a completely silly price after a bidding war between two buyers ... then the winner reneged on it ... got cold feet!
The seller (whom I know) was EXTREMELY pissed off: pound to a penny that's what happens here. let's wait and see what happens.
Folks, I know these kind of raincoats quite well. They are from a german manufacturer in the 80s, called "Mantel Schmidt".
They made shiny cotton-backed pvc raincoats till the mid 90s. Finally they closed their factory near Hamburg. The coats did cost about 100 DeutscheMarks (about 50 Euros at that time). They have been sold quite well in Germany, and they were available in nice colours (green, red, blue, pink, black).
Now they are a "collectors" bargain.
But I can't understand why this auction got so many bids.
Although the seller is well know for having real collector's style raincoats.
The bidding has now finished for this raincoat. It was sold for 505.00 Euros or
£442 GBP. Is this really worth this much. Lets see if the buyer actually goes ahead with payment.
