Wonder why I like it

Have some days on my own again so I can dress in whatever I like here at home.
Have my old, thin nylon rainwear from the 80:s on a great part of the time. It’s really un modern and don’t so waterproof anymore, but still I like it. Just the sound while moving in it is exciting, it’s so swichy. Love the sound from it and remember the time when my girlfriend for the time beeing, used those thin nylon rainwear. Used them all the time then, when walking the dog, out on the sailing boat, when jogging, etc. Loved to go jogging with my girlfriend both dressed in our nylon rainwear. So swichy while running and to se her moving in her thin rainwear were so exciting.
But I still keep asking me why a thin nylon rainwear and the sound from it, can be so exciting? What do you think?

It is a mystery to me why I like shiny rainwear, I suppose that it is getting fixated to something that has a distinctive look. I liked shiny PVC as almost as far back as I can remember, when I was about 10 I was given a cagoule and a matching pair of overtrousers in royal blue. At first I thought it a bit cheap and flimsy, but I soon began to like the feel of it against my bare skin and once I reached puberty I began to realise that girls or young women who were wearing cagoules enhanced my attraction to them.

I also remember this extreme attraction for these young women dressed in these raincoats.
I remember a friend who wore a "Jelly coat" style pvc raincoat from PVC U LIKE, translucent purple, it was beautiful and desirable, but I was way too shy to tell her my feelings!
His image has marked me for many years. She and I were 16 years old at the time, we are now 62 and I have never forgotten this dream image.

You don't give an age on your profile but I imagine you grew up in the era when nylon rainwear was standard, and perhaps when other clothes were nylon, i.e. mens shirts, underwear, pyjamas also nylon overalls, nylon housecoats and chore jackets. You are right, nylon rainwear is nowhere near as rainproof as the plastic rainwear that came before but it makes a nice noise when you swish along so is fun to wear.

You are right, I grew up in the nylon era, teenager in the late 60:s/70:s and a young adult in te late 70:s/80:s. Everything was made of nylon, our jackets, our rainwear etc.
We often played ”hunt and catch”, and I can still recall the feeling of catch a girl in her shiny, nylon jacket. When we caught each other, there was a short wrestling and it was an opportunity to hug and squize each other. And it was our first contact with female bodies and vice versa. So our first contacts with the opposit sex where when we all was dressed in nylon, jackets or rainwear. And you are also right, they were so swichy while playing in our nylon cloathes, really loved the sound and still love it.
But I don’t think so many of us became nylon fetishists, never talked with the others about it so I don’t know for sure. One of my best friends from that time, a woman in the same age, continued to use nylon cloathes and always have shiny nylon down jackets. But she have never talked about any fetish. When we meet and we both wear nylon down jackets, we hug and hold each other longer than other times. Perhaps I dare to Ask her one day…

I am no scientist but I suspect the liking for nylon swishing sounds could be a throwback to floating in the womb, the sounds of the natural life supporting fluids. The heavier rubber rustle beloved of mackintosh enthusiasts could also emanate from this but more likely to come from mummy or daddy wearing a noisy mackintosh when accompanying or comforting a child. Ah those were the days.

You may well be right, in terms of liking the sound of the swishing noise, but in my case it is probably the look of it is a more intense liking.
I am starting to think that a fetish of any kind(not just rainwear) is the inverse of a phobia where people have an irrational fear or repulsion for something.
