Thanks Paul. I have seen those items on ebay. The first is an older style but not that great a quality. I did buy one at the time but they were not the best ever made sadly. Always good to keep an eye out though. Thanks

Also not a nylon fan, just doesn't do anything for me. Heavy PVC or rubber for me, shiny PVC/Polyurethane/Rubber for the ladies. My favorite rainwear item to wear right now is my rubberized cotton Burberry mac, or my short hooded yellow PVC slicker with "fireman" style buckles...mostly because my friends/family don't bat an eye when I wear either of those, and I still get the same sexual charge I get out of wearing my other rubber rainwear away from prying eyes.

My favourite raingear seems to change from time to time. Right now it is my long White 60's style thick PVC mack.
I do like some nylon rainwear especially if it makes a nice rustling noise like the older Regatta style ones - they all look good when they are soaking wet with the rain though.

sorry Clear or semi clear plastic macs are the best or the full rainsuit. Not being boring but pvc-u-like is where all my money goes, or Ebay :-) .

Wow - there seems to be some kind of anti-nylon raingear, anti-cagoule lobby going on here! Can I suggest that negative comments are not posted as this is a forum for raingear enthusiasts..! Sure we all have different tastes in our raingear but let's not knock eachother. Maybe Paul should have seperate categories. It seems to me that we fall into:

Nylon Raingear (cagoules raintrousers etc.)
Plastic Raingear
PVC Raingear
Rubber Raingear
Cotton and Other Raingear (riding macs and more traditional macs)

Anyone agree..?

By the way SBR means styrene butadiene rubber and not shiny black rubber.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Styrene-butadiene

Have fun.. Best Swishes..... Peter

Hey, I didn't say there was anything wrong with nylon, or people who like it, just that it wasn't my particular cup of tea. Let's face it, we're all a little "odd" to begin with, given that we share a fetish that relatively few others do. I do think it's cool that within our subculture there are smaller individual "sub-sub-cultures" for lovers of PVC, nylon, plastic, rubber, wellies, gas masks, etc.
It's just that when the subject matter switches to things that don't get me off, I tend to tune out. I say, to each his or her own.

May I point out that I never said anything negative about nylon rainwear/cagoules: I simply stated that it's not my thing simply because I prefer plastic or PVC. The most important thing is that we all enjoy wearing rainwear, regardless what material it is. In fact, my first rainwear "love" was a beautiful greem with yellow stripes on the arms nylon 'Spicer' rainjacket which i used to wear all the time before "graduating" to plastic and PVC, which I much prefer wearing now
