Rainwear & family life

Post by Boots_Luxembourg »

Hi All

As a family guy myself with children on my own, I'm interested in how others on the board manage to mix up their desires for raingear with family life.

Our oldest is now 18 and as boots and as raingear always have been around the house, she have never really asked any funny questions. Me and my wife often manage some hot play in rainwear when they children is away, but with grand parents far away that's not that often in our case.

How do you all manage? Ever gotten any funny questions from family members or friends?

yes, that's a nice question, indeed. My kids are 20 and 22 now, and I often wear my shiny see-through black clear PVC raincoat from PVC-U-Like when going for a long walk with the dog. It looks not typically feminine like other raincoats in red or pink, so my raincoat s not as that unusual. It's not wide spread, and you don't see this type very often, but to wear this raincoat in the pouring rain, when walking with dog, it's not suspicious.
Sometimes I got some funny remarks from my kids, but then I really return the question "do you want to go out with dog in that weather?, and they really don't. So they easily can be made to shut up. They definitely don't want to go out in rainy weather with the dogs.
But to be honest, I enjoy my festish for shiny PVC raincoats when I am on business trip, far from home.
I often wear one of my raincoats from my hidden rainwear collection, when I am alone in the hotel.
That's when I really don't feel lonely, because I have my favourite raincoats with me.
My wife had a few shiny PVC raincoats 10 years ago (a trenchcoatin shiny pink, one in shiny black, when these colurs were in fashion, and did see them quite often in the shops. But she wore them for fashion, and not for "passion". She wore them very often, to be honest, every time it was raining, and even in the high street, in public. But at that time I did not wear one of my raincoats. I just wore them when getting out with the dog on a rainy day. Sometimes, in my home town, many pupils give me a strange look, when I walk along the street wearing my shiny long plastic raincoat, but they all are toattly soaked, totally wet, freezing, having wet clothes, and I feel so comfortable, because I am well protected.
Then I laugh at them and say : did somebody steal your umbrella, ha, ha, ha....?
And then I really enjoy this moment, when they admit, that I am well protected and they are definitely not.
