Megan pauses her walk to take a seat

Post by Megan »

Megans been out for a rainy walk in the hills and ecides she needs to take a break and sit down somewhere comfortable. As it's Megan, her idea of a comfortable seat is considerably wetter than most peoples! No matter though - her multiple layers of rainwear and headscarves, plus her chestwaders, have kept her perfectly dry and ready to continue her walk.

Love this video Megan, you in your layers of rainwear approaching the waterfall and then turning round and sitting under the torrent of water falling down the waterfall, really like the part where you totally disappear from view when getting completely under the waterfall you then reappear looking totally soaked, the only thing I would change is the length of time you sat under the waterfall you should have stayed under longer. This is my idea of a great day out.

I did spend quite a bit more time during that visit - I did climb up and stand under the fall for a short time, before clambering back down to the seat, so probably another 5 minutes or so. I may be able to post another video at some point. Looking again at the video, I had to wade through some knee-deep water, and you can see my raincoat has opened up at the bottom with two other coats showing - I was wearing a blue Rukka as my second layer that day, and an olive green nylon Mac under that - fortunately my chest-waders kept my legs dry! You can also see that my headscarf has accumulated water trapped either side by the knot at my chin - the proofing is so good that although the waterfall has pounded it's way through the outer layer on the top of my head, it doesn't penetrate the rest of the scarf, and is trapped inside the folded material until I loosen the knot! It's always trickier staying dry when you're not standing upright under the flow, but this was a good day!
