Do we grow into a pvc fetish?
Do we grow into a pvc fetish?
Part of the dictionary explanation of fetish is "deriving sexual pleasure" of an item. I think that most of us who have a fetish for pvc began our love of it in our formative years. It is true in my case, around 9 or 10 years old. I am sure it was not "sexual" at this age. The feel of pvc was good but didn't arouse me until 4 or 5 years later. My question is,if we were not getting "pleasure" as such at this age,why do we love pvc,and does it grow into a fetish at a later stage?
Re: Do we grow into a pvc fetish?
well I have to admit that my love of pvc did really start in my teenage years when I realised the effect that pvc could have on my naked body. I was never that keen on wearing a plastic mac when I was very young.

Broad minded enough to acknowledge we all enjoy different things:)

ah yes the yellow capes, I have an RF Stormcheetah one which I acquired recently and suspect is of older type as quite thick and lovely and smooth on the inside unlike the new ones you can get now which are just not of the same quality
Re: Do we grow into a pvc fetish?
Great question, and maybe there are many answers. In my case, I have pictures of me at the age of 2 or 3 wearing a black shiny coat (as it's only a black and white photo I have no idea of the real color) and then a picture of me with my mother and her sister both wearing plastic macs. I do have some memories of being 7 or 8 and admiring my teacher who wore a leather jacket, but cannot claim any sexual context. Other than that I have no other reference points until my very early teenage years when I recoginzed the attraction of women wearing PVC - mainly seen on TV or films and occasionally live in the street. The sighting of a woman wearing such a garment not only created a strong arousal in the trouser region, but made me go red with embarrasment, became somewhat speechless and found that I was breathing differently. This led me to the conclusion that I was clearly infatuated with women wearing PVC - and even today I have most of these symptoms (though not so strong as they used to be). I never experienced the same effect with me wearing PVC/plastic, so have categorized myself as a fetishist for women wearing PVC...as you can probably guess, my wife has quite the collection and so sometimes I think that maybe I have already died and gone to heaven!!

Re: Do we grow into a pvc fetish?
I'm not sure if we grow into it or not. There are plenty who indicate that they rememebr the feeling of rubber/plastic pants as a youngster. I don't remember that. I do know that I like the feel of pvc as a very young teenager, for sexual reasons.
I've asked my wife if she thinks that I am more into PVC/plastic than her. She said no very quickly. I told her about my preference before we were sexually active. She asked a few questions, but she enjoyed the plastic from the start. And now, as the years have gone by a few, she many times will decide it is time for bed by showing up in the livng room with a pvc/plastic garment. She told me that when I am out of town, she will wear one of my raincoats, for the smell and texture. So she has definately grown into it.
But she also pointed out that she observed that while the pvc/plastic is definately a sexual turn on, she also noticed that it is a "comfort" feeling, much like that special blanket to a youngster. Many times, we fall asleep with the garments still on, and she noticed that I many times prefer to have a pillow with a plastic cover on it. She herslef feels the same way.
I now tend to beleive that the pvc/plastic gives us/me two distinct feelings. With my wife, it is a hot and great iem sexualy. But, if I am traveling on the road, I will wear a clear Jeantex jacket, and I feel very comfortable with it. I will wear it inside to office buildings to visit my customers, and I have many positive comments. Several times I have scribbled down web site names for these office gals. (The weather does have to be threatning a bit. Not something to do on a sunny day!).
So I think we do grow into it, I have seen that with my wife, and I use pvc/plastic much more than I did before I met her.
Just my thoughts.

Re: Do we grow into a pvc fetish?
I don't think we need to restrict this to PVC;an equally valid question would be"Do we grow into any fetish?"
I guess we do,as long as we are able to without any perceived or real negative impact to our wellbeing.
I'm sure books and Phd thesis' have been written about it.
Fetishes are incredibly varied.

Re: Do we grow into a pvc fetish?
Thanks to those who replied, there are some interesting comments.Until the last couple of years,I thought I was the only one who had this 'thing' about pvc/plastic. Having seen rainwear central,I know now this is not so.Its good to know there are others out there with this love,or fetish, for pvc.
Re: Do we grow into a pvc fetish?
I agree that these fetishes start when we are young. Growing up in the early fifties it was the old fashioned red rubber that was everywhere for me, at home and at boys boarding school. Rubber pants, bed undersheets, aprons etc. Even my pram was rubber lined. Mackintoshes were still rubber lined or SBR. Just about every home had the rubbers to protect the bed from bedwetting youngsters. The old rubber produced a strong sexual affect on some when certain chemicals were released by sweat and urine. PVC and plastic started to replace the old rubber in the later fifties. The old red rubber is now difficult to find, but I know of one gent in Holland who has a large collection of the old sheet, some dating from the forties. There is also a company in Germany that can make garments to order having sourced the material from an old army warehouse. I have various garments and they have 'that' rubber aroma and strong aphrodisiac power. SBR is still available from our chums at Weathervain. Why some of us become rubberists, and others not, has been discussed in so many forums. Nobody really knows, it seems.
