I have just returned home after, one and a half hour long walking, in the rain and wind. It was the first time in several months. I've been out and gone in rainwear. I was wearing dark blue bib rain pants. Dark blue rainjacket. Rubber boots, a dark blue rain gloves and red southwest.
Was there anyone in the UK, who were out in the rain and wind, when the storm passed you in the United Kingdom?

Re: Rain walking
I looked at my window yesterday evening about 5pm, the rain was going sideways even! I had to walk the dog, so I went in my wardrobe and took my regatta navy blue rainsuit and went into the garage. I slid the trousers up and put the jacket on then open the door and was still raining. I didn't feel embrassed at all as i felt normal because i was being sensible
Re: Rain walking
Hope it rains this week end; dog walking ; local football.
Both good excuse to get "garbed" up.

Broad minded enough to acknowledge we all enjoy different things:)
Re: Rain walking
This evening going back from work, the weather was rainy and windy, hummmmm. From my car to home I wear my long see throu Pvc U Like raincoat. As soon I am at home, I undress and put a latex bermuda and a black pvc sweating jogging , a pvc rainjacket - lined with fleece nobody is perfect ( but the temperature was only 8°C) and a black noisy regatta trousers with my black pvc ridding boots. I firmly attached the hood, and put my black rubber gloves.
I walked one hour. The song of the drops striking on the hood was incredible with the song of the regatta trousers.
Just one black point, May be an idea for Pvc-u-like: due to the wind the bottom of the long raincoat was often up and sticking so the bottom of the trousers was not protected. It is a theoritical point because there was two layers of pvc under the raincoat. The solution could be to have a longer raincoat with closures till the hem or to add legs strape on the bottom of the raincoat. What do you think Mr Pvc-U-Like ?

Re: Rain walking
Hi,
Just went for a one hour walk as well this evening, wearing Le chameau waders, a Helly Hansen down jacket, yellow HH nusfjord rain bib pants, and a HH Nusfjord button style jacket.
Kept me completely dry, even though it was a complete downpour and the wind was howling

Hi cirevinyl
No here in Lux it's rare to see people in rainwear, even the Hunter boot fashion seems not to have caught on here at all, I think people here generally are very old fashioned.

Re: Rain walking
I had to drive into town this evening the rain pouring down and quite a strong wind here in South Wales. It was so torrential that I had to wear my SBR trenchcoat, anything else would have soon succombed to the driving rain.
I chose to wear my Grey Hunter wellies and Black Rubber Souwester which I nearly lost once in a strong gust of wind. As I walked back to the car I must have passed six or seven people with their 'Raingear' on :
One had a nice Carlsberg T-shirt with shorts and trainers, another girl had a crop cardigan which was so saturated that it flapped around wildly soaking her even more and one male teenager had a flannel style shirt and jeans which were tighter still as they were soaked.
No-one gave me a second glance even in the shop I called into.
On the positive side I did see a woman on a bus that pulled up with a Glossy Green Primark PVC raincoat on, but that was the only good sighting all day !
