Early Internet Rainwear Found

Post by Cherie »

Someone at work mentioned the Internet archive and Wayback Machine as a way to find long dead content from past websites. Last night I excitedly tried my hand at finding content from old sites using web.archive.org and it worked! Takes a bit of getting used to but in a short time I was reliving free photos and videos from plastic-lovers.co.uk that I thought were long gone!

While I’m on the topic of old geezer stuff… who remembers “pasties”? Like attempts to create desired images of rainwear by crudely popping the head of an actress on the body of a man in a PvC trenchcoat. Some were very crude, others a bit harder to spot. Our very own early rainwear AI - personally I hated them!

Sounds good, I must have a look at this when I'm not too busy. I wonder if this would bring back Janet's Eclectic Reviews which has been gone for about 4 or 5 years now?

Can you remember the website address? I searched for plasticlovers.co.uk and found nothing, then remembered it was plastic-lovers.co.uk and it was there. So far I have found every site I have looked for but some content is missing depending on what date you choose to look at. My first choice of date worked but didn’t go far enough back… the link was there but it said the content was not available. Went back two years more to 2017 and found it.
