There's an orange one on vinted now I've seen. Looks ok but pictures can be deciving.

I wish I could find an old Peter Storm, whether it's a full zip one or an overhead one. When you think how common they were years ago, you would think that a few would turn up in charity shops....

A few of my pet peeves:

People who wear hooded sweatshirts as rain gear. They somehow believe that a porous heavy cotton sweatshirt will keep them dry in a thunderstorm just because it has a hood.

In a similar vein, people who think a hat, or a plastic bag over their hair, is sufficient protection. Apparently they’re fine with their clothing & shoes getting soaked through, as long as their hair is dry.

People who use cheap folding umbrellas, even after one or more spokes have been exposed, and they run the risk of poking someone else’s eye out. Throw that broken piece of cheap crap in the trash and invest in a real umbrella that will last for more than one use. Or forget the umbrella alto and invest in a decent raincoat and boots instead.

Resellers who list their coats as rubber, when they clearly are plastic or vinyl, then try to sell them for what an actual rubber Mac sells tor. Also ones who list items no more than five years old as “vintage” (granted, this also applies to items other than rainwear)

The proliferation of cheap, disposable “emergency ponchos”, which do nothing to keep out the rain and will tear if you breathe on them. You’re better off poking holes in a Hefty trash bag.

Current rainwear brands, especially Stuttherheim, that have more or less abandoned size XXL raincoats, while continuing to market to tiny, thin little waifs who wear sizes as small as XXXS. Seriously, I’ve never met any adult who could fit into a coat that small. Conversely, kudos to Farmerrain, who year in and year out offer great looking fashionable pieces, in sizes all the way up to 4XL in some cases, and at prices that blow brands like Stutterheim out of the water. And they offer many brightly colored, glossy rainwear in those larger sizes. They have become my go to choice for rainwear, and the only company I recommend to people looking for a good quality raincoat.

Continuing in that area, I hold a special level of contempt for Hunter boots, for their lack of size inclusivity, and lack of style & color options for men, or really anyone whose shoe size is higher than 43. Go on their website at any given time, you’ll see like 400 different size/style/color options for women, but for men you’ll be lucky to find ten unique styles of boots, with color choices limited to dark green, black, navy, dark grey, and maybe sometimes they’ll mix it up and offer us light grey, brown, or tan. Complaints fall on deaf ears, begging, bribing, blackmailing, offering sexual favors, all yield zero results. Fuck Hunter.

hunter boots have been low quality despite high prices ever since they were made in china about 20 years ago. i have an old pair that are much softer but they are cracked unfortunately.

also i wish there were more variety of the smooth shiny rain boots for my size. i am about a size 11-11.5 (mens) and the only boots that have that for standard shiny design are veuve cliquot rainboots which are a discontinued promotional and usually are not cheap.

In their defense; they are just ridiculous regarding their sizes.

The coat fits the model very well and they indicate the model is 6'1'' tall and wears a size SMALL.
Since when do people of 6' and over have to purchase small sizes?
How tall do you have to be to wear their size XL, over 7' or something?

It is just absurd how they size their rainwear.
