I was walking yesterday morning to my Dad's house when I saw a lady walking her dog wearing some red wellies. It was not raining or was there any planned rain although it had rained a little bit overnight.
I thought I would catch her up and comment on her lovely wellies. As I got nearer I could see that they had had quite a bit of use as there was dry mud on them. She had no other rainwear on unfortunatly, just some jeans and a thin black wool coat.
As we crossed a road together, I could tell she was going to the seafront where we have large grass open areas, hence the boots if it was still a bit wet. Once on the pavement, I took the opportunity to comment "nice wellies" to which she just looked at me and went "oh, cool". I was hoping for a slighlty more responsive action, or maybe that was just me being hopeful. As we exchanged these few words I noticed that they were Hunters too and if she had responded a but more favourable I would have commented on this too, but i thought I better not force a conversation.
I continued to walk on and changed direction at the next road. Obviosuly she walks her dog quite a bit, so many hopefully see her again one day.

Re: Red Wellies
I always try & smile & speak to girls in their wellies. I wish more girls would be like me & wear their wellies all the time.
