I often wear my black nylon jacket and black nylon trousers, and my clear plastic mac from Plastico.
My excuse is, that I also wear a warn vest under the clear coat, so that I can be noticed my motorists
and car drivers or byciclists earlier. I often go for a walk with my dogs, mostly in the morning hours
and evening hours, and I really enjoy that.
My wife does not know about my fetish for shiny vinyl rainwear, but I often wear my clear plastic mac over my
nylon jacket and nylon trousers, because my argument is that nylon isn't waterproof enough, especially when it rains quite heavily (and it does here in Germany).
So I think that wearing a clear plastic mac, without any gender specific extras like cuffs, or belt, or typical female accesories, that'Äs really not a problem for us, guys. However, I vane't seen any other people wearing shiny clear plastic macs here in Germany, except for pop or rock festivals, or motor sports outdoor events. And since most soccer stadiums are covered, at a soccer game you wouldn't see too many raincoats nowadays. In the 70s, many male and female spectators definitely wore raincoats, because the stadiums were not covered (except the VIP seats).
But at some open air concerts in the Olympia-Stadium of Munich, where just a part of the stadium is covered, you might see a lot of spectators wearing rain protection. Many people wear this very thin flimsy plastic shit, and other are serious in raincoats. I hope that we will get much rain here in July, when so,me Open Air concerts will take place at the Olympic Stadium in MUnich. Then I will wear my shiny clear plastic rainmac made by Plastico, which I bought at www.funplastic.de.
