She does indeed in the picture. However, I translated the Danish note and what I said in the first post is how it translates, but I cannot see that it has a collar. In the 1940's, there were some that had both collars and fixed hoods, but the collars were plainly visible.
I particularly like this type of mac, too. My first girlfriend (back in 1960) wore one, though not very often. In the mid-1970's, when she was married (not to me), she often wore a semi-transparent blue one.

I remember seeing that style of hood/collar. It worked like one of those 'cellophane' concertina rainhoods that old ladies wore a lot over their permed hair. The lower hem was attached to the neck of the raincoat, and it had two long tie ribbons on the corners. When the hood was not needed, a pull on the ribbons concertina'ed the hood into a thick collar, and the ribbons could then be tied under the chin.

Aaaaaah, such sweet memories.

Meanwhile, thanks to the miracles of time travel, this lady has had a double leg transplant.

First, kudos to Frogman for reviving the memories of fashions that got us all running in the first place. The models all have that "I have something that you want, but you can't have it" look. That's one of the secrets of the fashion industry and it creates envy and demand. Now, how do we revive that? I particularly like the lady with the real shiny cape and the tight hood. Used to see those in the fities and early sixties and ladies would love to swish and crackle their garments when they were positoned and donned. Whew!!

Definitely on my list of would like but can't have.

Responding to an old post about the plastic overshoes. I believe that was one of the starting points of my plastic and rainwear fetish. I have remembered many sightings of girls and women from all ages wearing them. I only believe they were popular in the US, where I am from. I imagine they were exported to Europe. I never saw any Europeans wearing them. Priscilla mentioned the spike heel version. Those were less popular from my memories. Most of them were for flat heels. Many girls that I went through all my school years wore them, even in the early 70s. Originally developed by Principle Plastics and marketed as Drizzle Boots. There were many clones. The best ones I remember were an off brand that were practically crystal clear, the Drizzle Boots were a frosty clear. I bought my ex two pairs, different sizes for her variety of shoe styles. They also made them in a semi translucent smoky gray. My wife has a couple of pairs she wears on occasion.

Amazon has a large variety of contemporary styles that look intriguing.

I think these overshoes are now much improved in both quality & style . My wife has 2 pairs ( from Amazon , of course ! ) - but wears them to protect her expensive trainers !
I also live in the USA but originally lived in the UK . There doesn't seem to be any "hang ups " about wearing these here, whereas in the UK I think the image was associated with elderly and/or frumpy people .
She also has a full length Stutterheim plastic mac , ( which they don't seem to sell anymore ) - they look good together !!!!

What kind of got me going to, was the fact that women, both young and old, loved to protect their shoes. Many times when it wasn't really raining or after the storm, they still wore their plastic overshoes without any other rainwear. I have so many vivid memories of all those times that I will share sometime
