vintage yellow oilskins

Post by pvcmac »

can anyone tell me where i can get hold of a vintage pvc sailing oilskin, the smock type with laces at the neck and a hood. i have a lovely red one that is too small for me but i love it, and a very old yellow one that is quite badly ripped. although my yellow oilskin has been repaired i can no longer wear it as it would only rip apart if i did. i am very fond of my old oilskins and i would love another one at least.if anyone has an old oilskin they would be willing to sell please let me know, i would love to give them a good home.

I don't know if it would be of any help but the German e-bay site has quite a few Yellow macs / oilskins / slicker style coats. They can be far more numerous than the UK or US e-bay at times.
If you log into the site and type in a variety of the following:
Friesennerz, Lackmantel, or Regenmantel and also type in 'Gelb' for the Yellow raincoats then see what they have available.
I bought a lovely thick Yellow raincoat (PVC) a few weeks ago with the snap style fasteners and large flap pockets but there has been absolutely no rain in South Wales for ages to try it out !

Good luck.
