Rained on & off all day in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, sometimes rather heavy. Went to the mall on my lunch hour in my long Marlboro yellow slicker with the brown canvas lining, matching Helly Hansen sou'wester and my new yellow Hunter wellies. Lots of females of all ages in colorful wellies, and lots of cotton trench coats in drab conservative colors as well as bold spring colors & prints to be found. Amid all that I encountered a woman in a white PVC trench waiting for her daughter in Macys, a middle aged woman in a shiny red hooded polyurethane slicker, and an older woman in a purple hooded PU slicker.
Walking back through the parking lot to my car (having parked as far from the entrance as possible to squeeze maximum enjoyment out of walking in the rain) I was approached by a cute young girl carrying a pink striped pagoda-shaped umbrella, wearing a hoody & pink polka-dot wellies. She said "I'm not trying to be mean but you remind me of a big yellow duck". I replied that I wasn't offended as I'm just asking for attention going out dressed like that. Farther along my trek a woman in a brown cotton raincoat with green trim & matching rain hat, & glossy graphite Hunters said she loved my outfit. I told her hers was pretty cute too, but she said she just really liked my yellow boots. Moments like those make me wish I was single again...
