Does anyone remember the scene in the tv series "Porterhouse Blues" (based on the novel written by Tom Sharpe) where Mrs Briggs the housekeeper is wearing a red plastic/pvc mac and teasing the graduate student Zipser.
I have tried to find the scene without success. Can anyone help.
Susi.

Wowww thank you Beth you are incredible. LOVELY scene that one. Had a mac that one back in the sixties, bought it from Tescos.
I remember going in to Tescos after school and trying on Ladies Pvc/Vinyl macs. I eventually bucked up the courage to buy one with my pocket money. I was about 12/13 at the time.

Ah nice, I was looking for this scene too.
Didn't not know where it was from.
I do remember the short clip going around about this, a few years back.
Now I could see the rest of it too.
I assume someone with mack-preferences must have been involved with it.
Because not only this scene but in more scenes shiny macks are visisble

Re: Porterhouse Blues
Porterhouse Blue is written by Tom Sharpe, who also wrote the book “Wilt”. Towards the end of the book there is a scene with a couple on a boat and it describes the wife as wearing a PVC bikini. The book was made into a film, but alas no PVC bikini on screen. I have never read Porterhouse Blue, the book, but maybe the writer is a PVC fan if it contains that gorgeous red Mac scene.

Re: Porterhouse Blues
Tom Sharpe's first two novels satirise apartheid South Africa. Both contain a variety of pant wettingly funny sexual scenes. Rubber fetishism features prominently in the first, "Riotous Assembly", but they are maybe not for anyone who takes their "enthusiasm" too seriously. "Wilt" includes reference to the twentieth century English practise of requiring condemned women to put on waterproof pants on the morning of their execution.
