New platform
New platform
Is there anyway we could move the forum to a different platform? Ideally an app? Where it’s easier to post pictures and videos and allows notifications of new activity and messages etc, also could include and instant chat function? Just an idea as there maybe a lot of people who only use apps etc and may not know about the forum, particularly the younger generation!

I don't think this could work.staggy wrote: January 30th, 2023, 2:42 pm Is there anyway we could move the forum to a different platform? Ideally an app? To get a final answer, just ask the moderator (Rainwearboy).

If there is enough interest, I could create a private/secret group so membership is more or less restricted to members here. Then we have the best of both worlds.
Re: New platform
Nothing on Facebook is ever really private, and if you are successful in hiding things to begin with, they constantly change terms and conditions and privacy options to make sure they get their hands on your data. After all, if you are not paying for it, they have to make money somehow. As of the start of this month all Facebook data outside of the EU is being used to train their AI systems (unless you have managed to find the sneakily hidden option to turn it off), so even if your data doesn’t make it out the normal route it can pop up in AI results. I don’t ever do Facebook because of its terrible privacy.

Similarworlds.com is very much so what you're looking for with all those functions, chats, easy photo sharing and very easy to use
Re: New platform
I would like to see this forum be easier to post pictures and videos and more mobile friendly.

Re: New platform
Chatroom would definitely be nice, but it is rare many members are on at the same time

Re: New platform
Interesting comment, because whenever I check there are always more than 50+ people on the site. At this very moment it's 85.

Re: New platform
I occasionally see a couple of members but alot of ‘guests’ ie bots probably or people finding the site and leaving again.

I suspect that like me, only login when there is something we want to comment on or add or PM someone. As I type this there are 5 registered (6 now including me) and 94 "guests". If there was a chat room I would always login and chat.
