Been to the falls decades ago. Back then the visitors were handed out raincoats that were collected again on exit. They were made from some nylon fabric with a coating inside. They were quite smelly. A mixture of rubber and "wetter dog" stellt. I think they were never allowed to dry properly at all. I wonder what their actual service life-span was.
