Adult puddlesuits
Hey all,
Does anyone else have a love of waterproof nylon all in one / adult puddlesuits? Like a waterproof overall.
Having just missed out on a black and fluro KWay one on ebay.. again! (That’s two ive saved in favourite list and gone back to buy later that day when free and found them sold).
As a kiddo I was made to wear them growing up before I got big enough for a proper cagoule and over trousers and went from hating to loving wearing one quite quickly. Being the 70’s it was quite rustly nylon in red with blue stripe down each arm.
I have a super rare white peter storm one which must have been for sailing i think, thick nylon with high viz reflective tape swen around each wrist and a heavy duty zip and velcro closure. Quite rubbery inside. Then a millets ‘suit in a sac’ all in one festival type crazy pattern one, and a very old and sadly too small now BHS one in royal blue with very shiny coating that I could fit into until a few years ago lol.
Planning on buying a ‘dry big kids’ puddle suit next, probably in navy blue as I can maybe get away with wearing it out in public when raining, as a few horseriders this way have them for mucking out at the yard. I saw a lovely lady wearing one a year or so back in tescos half down, arms hanging and asked her where she bought it from as was looking for one for dog walking to also over my clothes quickly (also true I do want one for this as well, why wouldn’t you?) and she showed me the website.
To step into an all in one and do the zip up and feel encased in waterproof nylon cagoule material is absolutely heaven.
Anyone else have a love of wearing these and anyone on here get the kway one this week?
Xx

Re: Adult puddlesuits
I just bought one on ebay uk but not nylon. Its pvc .awaiting delivery.
Can't wait to try it on as soon as it gets here.
I will be wearing it out in are back yard and if it looks ok .will be taking it down to the beach when I go for a nice walk in the rain.
Must wash it first when in the shower.
It's hard to get a adults nylon all in one like yours. But have seen similar for motor bikes riders.

I like the all in one PVC suits like you can get at farmerrain or www.rainwear.store but if it needs to be more like the nylon puddle suits of old how about this site where they do adult versions too... https://drykids.co.uk/collections/adults-all-in-ones. Happy puddle jumping!

I never had one as a child, I don't think they were around then. I was very jealous of the youngsters nowadays as you see them alot. After alot of looking I found one on ebay in bright pink and I love it. Also found the the dry kids website and really want another one

Oh I like the idea of a puddlesuit !! Being zipped up from head to toe in soft silky nylon sounds like heaven.
A navy blue one would look great too .

Dry kids stuff is alright. I've not got a one piece but I get the trousers off of ebay as they are cheap, nice coating and feel and last a bit better then other brands.

When I am out walking in wet weather in a local country park, I often get envious of the number of youngsters I see who are wearing a splash or puddle suits. My thoughts are...'why weren't they around when I was young'....if only the were. But.....
But then I think back to my early youth and what did I have they don't have today......well:
Real rubber wellingtons made by Dunlop.
A black pvc/oilskin mack
A school mack that smelled of rubber
Rubber lined pants and plastic pants
Rubber lined overtrousers and anoraks.
Pakamacs..........when I first got my own and went out with my dad wearing his. I felt ten feet tall. Nobody took any notice as we rustled along in the rain.
Plastic ladies macks.......... for pleasure, wearing two at once, one worn normally and the other put on back to front, so you could pull both hoods pulled up so you could seal your head/face in plastic.
A yellow oilskin and later a pvc cycle cape with leggings and a sou'wester to match....which I did my paper-round in.
Ladies rubber bathing hats...with a chin strap...of course
Real rubber washing-up gloves.
Stephanie Bowman ..... plastic slimwear for every part of your body........ I discovered these at a jumble sale........boy did they take some hiding so they could not be found.
All the above were everyday things we saw and owned.........and for some of us they were the early seeds that would lead to a life of pleasure and still does.
Well all I can add is..... I had a 'miss spent youth ....well spent'
Will the modern items of today bring forth a fetish generation of tomorrow....... who knows.
Happy days

That sounds like an amazing childhood. There's nothing like rubber raingear.KlepperGuy wrote: October 7th, 2023, 1:07 pm When I am out walking in wet weather in a local country park, I often get envious of the number of youngsters I see who are wearing a splash or puddle suits. Re: Adult puddlesuits
Further my previous writings, highlighting things we had in my youth.
I will add that the ladies plastic mack's, the rubber ladies swim hats and the Stephanie Bowman plastic slimming clothes were all purchased by me at jumble sales usually held in a church hall..... the days before car boot sales.
The big problem came when you got home and had to hide it away. The loft space proved to be the best place, all wrapped up in a large box.
Nobody ever went up there, except to get the Christmas decorations down.
Playing with my secret toys at weekends and school holidays when my parents were out at work or at friends.
If you wondering about my age back the, I was between 10 and 18. After strangely discovering at an early age that certain materials and smells awakened certain feeling in me that gave me a strange pleasure..........and still do, even after 58 years.
As Julie Andrews sang in the Sound of Music............'I must have had a wicked childhood, I must have had a miserable youth.'
Well I am not sure what I had..........but it was 'really good fun.' What I did discover was that none of my friends had the same interests and feelings like I did.
But it would have been nice if puddle/splash suits had been around then and we all played in them.......in or out of doors
Happy days............ with my special toys ..... toys that you never told anyone about.
