one thing that would make the experience safer is to tie your hair back or cover it so it does not get caught in the zipper. having a jammed zipper in an enclosure suit is not something you will ever want to experience. i have a suit like that in the BLS6 material and it seems a bit softer than the shiny yellow and when zipped up i hold onto the zipper to make sure i can release it.

i also got my suit without the blue gloves because i don't like the disposables to i bought my own butyl gloves instead. PUL's hazchem suits used to provide them with these gloves.

If I have a rear zipper I always attach a length of cord to it. That way I can release it safely. As you get older, and joints don’t work as they used to, this kind of thinking becomes essential to avoid being trapped (unless that was your intention).

i also use a cord for both zippers. i also have a heavy rubber suit from studiogum however i have a hard time zipping it. there are small airholes for gasmask valves, but i don't know how much of a difference they make than not having them. getting trapped in a suit with no air is a nightmare.

"getting trapped in a suit with no air is a nightmare". Yeah, I can imagine - also just a wee bit life-threatening! Luckily, that's just not my thing....
