Rainy Day Frustrations

Post by agent66 »

Does anyone else out there get frustrated when during working hours"the rainstorm to beat all rainstorms" occur only to finish work and have it clear up? This is great because I truly am a sun worshipper, but I love to have a small window of oppurtunity to walk in the rain with my girlfriend- or all alone. Being dressed head-to-toe in wet shimmering rainwear is a truly beautiful thing. Love the sound of the pounding rain on the raincoat and rainpants and the way they shine. Another stumbling block is our kids(we love them but) I have mine every other weekend but her 2 boys aged 19 and16 live here and are only gone some of the time, so by night time after everything is done we are in bed early. Realistically speaking, only getting out a couple of times a year- either with girlfriend or without- in the rain seems to be all I/we can achieve. Let me put it this way, my company was on strike for two weeks NOT ONE THUNDERSTORM!! instead we got unseasonably cold windy temperatures that completely sucked. Anyway I'll jump on every oppurtunity I can to enjoy a good rainstorm when I can-hopefully with my girlfriend!!

I would certainly encourage the sixteen year old to try rubber rainwear. At that age I was already a very keen 'rubbersexual', and never looked back!

Happens to me ALL THE TIME! Just last week I was stuck at work while torrential rains raged for 2 hours only to be met with bright sunshine when I got off work.

I agree that it can be frustrating for us not being able to take advantage of the wet weather to endulge in our favourite pastime of walking in the rain fully protected in our different types of mackintoshes. That'swhy I always wear one of mine whenever there is a hint of rain. I admit that at first I was slightly embarrassed to be seen in a mac when the sun was shining but over the years I've become less sensitive and quite enjoy the funny looks I get from others when dressed up in my satin macs.
