Asos

Well at least Asos are embracing the plastic mac again this year, loads of choice, a bit pricey but at least it means we might get some being worn in public.

Don't forget these ones too: I bought both the red & blue one not long ago. They are absolutely fab raincoats! I actually wore the red one to the footy last night on a very chilly, although not really wet evening. My side wears red, black & white, so it was a natural fit for the game! My mate was very surprised to see me wearing it and he teased me a little at first and I replied, "No one will ever mistake me for the other side's supporters!!" (they all wear Navy blue)

Love the red one...the "fireman" style toggle clasps add quite a bit of interest too.

1) it looks like the actress in Pramface got her navy blue there

2) great rainwear but the cost.

slickers were $5 to $10 on sale in 1975-80, double when not on sale

that would be $15 to $30 today. not $200 to $300

I agree they are not cheap but they are not selling them as basic rain protection like in the 80's they are selling them as fashion coats and 50 to 60 pounds is what women pay for a coat. Also oil was cheap in the 80's relatively. I seem to remember c&a in the uk selling long see through basic macs for about 9 to 10 pounds which equates to between 32 and 48 pounds depending on which inflation calc you use. I'm just hoping this spurs primark and other cheaper retailers into action. They sold their macs for 12 - 15 pounds

They've got a lovely, smooth feel!! Surprisingly good quality too. The lining is a soft grey cotton. Lovely and warm; just right for nippy early winter days here

The sure do ... I like them. It's fractionally on the girly side; I get a few looks wearing this but most people don't seem to notice or care

That reminds me: Asos are discounting all their coats with 20% off everything, so jump in quick while you can

just got the red coat today (even at 20% off I couldn't afford to splurge on both the red & the navy, and the wife already has a navy slicker anyway), and it is AWESOME! Can't wait for her to try it on...supposed to rain tomorrow so it may get "baptized" right away!
