Now this may not seem that much of an event but trust me on this one the East of England could make the Sahara look wet with the lack of rain lately. It certainly arrived with a vengeance and my recently acquired rainstar mac finally got a soaking.
Anyone else had any rain lately?

None, here in the Netherlands.
When driving on my bike I put sometimes my black or red woman shiny
pu-raincoat on. Very exciting when specialasy the woman nearby looked at me.
Mostly I don't shame myself and say friendly, "hello".
Goodluck.

Well Merv I could compare South Wales with the Sahara as well recently, especially when GMTV promised us here a monsoon towards 4pm and it did'nt turn up !
I finished early from work and took my time getting dressed in my heavy PVC / Vinyl trenchcoat with Blue Hunter wellingtons and a recently polished SBR Souwester to hand for the promised heavy downpour which I watched on the Met-office site today at midday. Then I got into the car and drove to one of my favourite beaches in Gower near Swansea and parked the car and went walking accross the beach but after an hour of walking with nothing but a breeze blowing softly accross my Mack I decided to go home.
The only person I saw was a middle aged woman walking her Alsatian dog wearing a massive green cagoule style poncho which was way too big for her and blowing about out of control. We had a quick chat about how nice and desolate the beach looked with the grey waves coming in and she said I looked suitably dressed for the gunmetal grey clouds which really seemed about to shed tons of heavy rain, but that was it.
Perhaps I will have better luck tommorrow.
