I went on an early morning fishing trip to a little harbour town near where I live on Saturday morning. I didn't go for the fishing - just to get suited up and hang out for a bit.
I wore my chest waders, long rubber gloves and a Guy Cotten smock and it felt soooo good!!
I just sat on the edge of the pier with my fishing rod (without any bait on it
) and enjoyed getting splashed by the waves and spray from the sea.Lots of people walked past, some stopping to see if I caught anything, and I really wasn't bothered at all.
After a bit, I got bored, so went for a walk in the harbour in my waders - that felt good too, but a bit more conspicuous as I was just paddling around - might take a camera next time and photograph some boats etc.
It's the first time I've felt like this - wearing full gear in a public place and it felt really great. I'll definitely be doing it again soon.
