Re: wearing a raincoat in public
Since following this post it has inspired me to be more brave when the weather is poor. I recently walked my neighborhood at night wearing a shiny mac and boots. I didn't have as much as of existential dread of running into others like I normally do. Just got to remind yourself, if it's raining, it's not weird to dress for it.

I love wearing my rainwear out .even if it's not raining. Always just in case.most days it's always wet this time of the year. So no one takes any notice of what we are wearing. But I do definitely love to be out in my waterproof leggings and nylon macs

I try to wear a raincoat whenever possible. I like it best after it rains. Fresh air and a perfect alibi to have a raincoat (maybe another shower is coming). And when it's nice - sometimes someone surprises me walking around in a raincoat, but I don't really care, especially when I'm far from home.

There is a reason why a raincoat, shiny, matt, nylon, plastic or rubber, is called a raincoat. Thats why millions of people worldwide wear them! A minor percentage of us wear them because we enjoy it. The majority probably wouldn't understand, wouldn't care and so ignore. Just do what makes you happy. Lets face it, this world could do with a bit of happy at the moment!
