In response to "1000 Raincoats" mention of nylon raincoats

Yes they are available on ebay....some reasonably priced although some go for "silly money"

Over the last couple of months I have bought several nylon macs...ladies as well as mens(I do prefer ladies macs)...A Dannimac" hooded mac in red...£6.00...a off white Trenchcoat style nylon mac..."C&A" £5.00 and a brand new gents nylon mac in blue £3.99!

I have attempted to put mac photos on the Rainwear Central site but no joy...been told by the expert it could be something to do with my computer

If anyone wants to see my collection...Nylon,,,,PVC,,,Plastic..Trenchcoats just ask...I can send them via private message

Some wonderful photos.

I've doctored some of them and will upload them a few at a time with the original photo the doctored ones came from, some of which reflect my own tastes.

They make for a 'Spot the Difference' bit of fun.

Hope someone will like the results.

Could your problem be caused by your photos being too large?

My initial attempt at uploading to here was refused because they were tif format. When they were reduced to jpg format there was no further problem.

Some other formats also produce too may bites per picture.

Yes I think that was the problem

Paul kindly attempted to reduce them and has put them in the photo section on Rainwear Central

I think a large majority of members on here are thinking what you just said

Sadly the nearest we get at the moment is one called an "Emergency Poncho" which says to me..."in an emergency slip on a plastic poncho but as soon as is practical(Stops raining) take it off"

And to think that in the 1950s and 1960s Plastic macs were labelled as fashionable by the younger trendsetters(my sister included) and the older ladies and a lot of guys would wear their plastic macs irrespective if it was raining or not and how many carried one folded up in case it rained

well a raincoat did come in handy this morning, peed it down big time just as I wanted to go and catch a bus although it was still very warm. Wore a blue plastic raincoat, quite thin but kept me dry which is just as well as the bus was a good tn minutes late and the stop has no shelter. Have to admit it came off when i was on bus and stayed off while shopping as was in an indoor shopping centre and it was warm enough for tee shirt.

Ironically the oldish lady on the seat opposite was wearing a nylon mac which she kept on all journey, and presumably intended keeping on all day. Just as well certain members of the site werent on that bus, they would have found it all too much to bear to sit for nearly an hour in that environment
