Do you mean you have things from your ex? It just comes over me that I should have saved my ex lovely nylon rainwear when we split up. Just loved when she had it on, so swichy and shiny and she used really often. When walking, jogging, sailing, you name it.Nylon macs wrote: August 30th, 2024, 3:12 am I'm always buying second hand rainwear. It's a bug and if I see a ladys shiny raincoat or leggings I just have to put it in my collection.
It's a hard addiction to give up.
I have boxes of different rainwear long short shiny most with hoods and mainly all ladys.
Some from years ago I collected when I was with my ex .
Do you buy second hand?

Really shiny long mac's.
Wish that fashion would come back.
Love wearing these when I'm going through my collection now and again.

I also really appreciate long raincoats made of soft pvc, shiny, translucent, transparent or not.Nylon macs wrote: August 30th, 2024, 8:20 amYes I have saved some long shiny thicker pvc mackintoshes that was all the go in the 80s.Gerlid wrote: August 30th, 2024, 7:00 amDo you mean you have things from your ex? I also dream that people will wear these raincoats more. If we saw more people wearing them, I would be less hesitant to wear mine. I will gladly show my collection and buy more!
Re: Do you buy second hand?
Almost everything in my collection is second hand as good pvc/vinyl clothing is almost impossible to buy in the regular shops anymore. I like looking at thrift stores, but I buy most of my stuff online at sites like Vinted. You can easily buy something there anonymously and have it delivered at a service point. Sometimes I keep the item, sometimes I only try it on and if I don't like the item enough I get rid of it or resell it online.

Re: Do you buy second hand?
Once I retired, some 20 years ago, unsure if my pension would stretch I started buying all my clothes, including rainwear, from charity shops, revisiting in particular the plastic and nylon pacamacs of earlier days then available for a couple of pounds. When wearing these over other non-rainwear economy buys such as obviously well-worn polyester trousers and shirts I enjoyed the slight feel of shame at being reduced to such economies. Unlike others who have commented, being gay I prefer the thought that another man has worn the item of clothing I've just bought before me.

Rare to find good vintage raincoats in charity shops now but I keep looking as I have done since the 70’s. It’s part of the thrill seeing if the volunteers behind the till will engage you in conversation as to why your buying a ladies shiny mac.
